Composite Dental Fillings
A filling is the first option in a dental restoration. If a tooth has a small amount of decay or if it has been chipped, cracked, or worn down, a filling can be used to restore the shape and structure. A dental filling is a quick procedure that can be performed in about 30 minutes.
If you have a small cavity or are experiencing a toothache please do not wait to get it checked out. Early diagnosis of a cavity can be the difference between a small inexpensive filling and a costly crown or root canal.
Here at Salling and Tate, we use composite dental fillings, this is by far the most popular option for filling restorations. Though fillings come in many varieties, Composite Fillings are the most popular. That's because they are intended to blend in with the natural color of your teeth, for a natural appearance.
No longer do you have to walk around looking like a pirate with a gold or silver filling like years ago (unless you're into that sort of thing, in which case we offer those as well). Composite fillings are made up of a soft white plastic that can be matched to the shade of your natural teeth.
Composite fillings are also much stronger and more durable than the older mercury amalgam fillings.
